Tryout Update (8/30):

Thursday, August 31 – 1st Day of  Tryouts 4:30 to 6:00pm

Friday, September 1 – 2nd Day of Tryouts 4:30 to 6:00pm (1st cuts will be posted later that evening)

Tuesday, September 5 – Final Day of Tryout 4:30 to 6:00pm (The team roster will be posted later that evening)

Students who are trying out for volleyball and have registered on Dragonfly and submitted all of their paperwork will be issued a tryout number. This number should be on the front and back of a white or gray shirt that can be seen from a distance.  This should be done prior to tryouts to help speed up the check in process on the first day of tryouts. CHMS Volleyball Tryouts will take place after school between Wednesday, August 30th and Friday, September 1st from 4:15-6:00 PM. Players are encouraged to bring any volleyball equipment they have, including kneepads, but do not need to buy anything new for these dates. Players will be assigned a tryout number and are encouraged to wear a white or plain t-shirt that they can write this number on it for the tryout.

Athletes will be evaluated based on skills, effort, and attitude. The focus will be placed on passing, hitting, serving, and blocking drills.

First cuts will take place after the Thursday, August 31st tryout and be posted on this website in the evening by last name, first initial. Second cuts, if needed, will take place after the practice on Friday, September 1st, and be posted similarly. CHMS has a joint 7th and 8th grade volleyball team and usually includes roughly 12 players and 1-2 managers.
