Fill the Bus Initiative

The CMS Fill the Bus Initiative is a student-led service project organized by the CMS Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) to support schools and student-athletes in need. This year, all 21 CMS high schools participated by collecting and donating athletic equipment through their conference buses.

Through thoughtful planning and collaboration, the initiative provided over $15,000 worth of sporting goods to Owen Middle School in Buncombe County, which lost all athletic equipment due to Hurricane Helene. In partnership with the Steve Wilks Foundation, this effort not only helped Owen Middle rebuild its athletic program but also showcased the power of student-athletes leading with purpose and compassion.
