Adam Roach – Men’s Soccer

“North Meck’s boys soccer team defeated Hough 1-0 in overtime Oct. 3, breaking a losing streak to the mighty Huskies dating back to 2012. It marked a major milestone for the Vikings in the first year under head coach Adam Roach, who has combined with an experienced core for a breakout season.”

Greg Jachym- Football Coach
 
Among many wonderful words said about Coach Greg Jackym, here are a few:
“Coach Jachym is not only the leader of the AKFB program but also an amazing ambassador for our school and community.”
“Coach Jachym has an amazing growth mindset that exudes the perfect combination of humility and confidence…”
 
Some of the initiatives he has pushed:
  • Future Knights program, a community outreach program to our feeder elementary schools
  • Elon Park Elementary Reading Program where the team buses over to the feeder elementary school and works carpool and then reads to the kids
  • He teaches the all-female weight trainmen Classe empowering and encouraging our female athletes to get strongHER
  • Path to Knighthood Program which is about the entire AKFB coaching staff teaching the boys life skills. Examples are making pancakes from scratch, changing a tire, mock interviewing, how to tie a tie, as well as resources if furthering their football career.

Female Wrestling History

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A Mallard Creek High School student is making history as the first female in school history and Charlotte- Mecklenburg County Schools history to sign a National Letter of Intent to wrestle in college.

Myers Park High School:

Record Broken

Mary Bonner Dalton finished eighth at Champs Sports South Regional at McAlpine Park. That was the fastest 5K girls time in Mecklenburg County history (17:23) and earned her spot at Saturday’s national event.

Queen City Senior Bowl

Eighteen CMS football players were selected to compete in the Queen City Senior Bowl which features the top high school seniors of the Carolinas.  Selections included:
