CMS Ranks Top 10 in NFL Players on Opening Week Rosters

The NFL is the highest level of professional football in the United States. Many players hope to go pro but few will have the chance to do so. 

The building blocks for a professional career are built in high schools across the nation. Charlotte-Meck high schools have helped put several former student athletes on NFL rosters across the league!

Jovaughn Gwyn Harding

Jovaughn Gwyn is a graduate of Harding University High School. 

Gwyn brought his talent to the University of South Carolina where he played in 46 out of 48 games over five seasons during his college career.

Drafted to the Atlanta Falcons in 2023 as a guard.

 
Jordan Davis Mallard Creek

Jordan Davis is a graduate of Mallard Creek High School. 

Davis brought his talent to the University of Georgia.

He played a pivotal role in Georgia winning the 2022 National Championship. 

Drafted to the Philadelphia Eagles in 2022 as a defensive tackle. 

Trenton Simpson is a graduate of Mallard Creek High School. 

Simpson brought his talent to Clemson University.

He played 37 games over three seasons with the tigers totaling 164 tackles.

Drafted to the Baltimore Ravens in 2023 as a linebacker. 

Drake Maye is a graduate of Myers Park High School.

Maye brought his talent to the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. 

He started a total of 30 games in three seasons at quarterback for the Tar Heels. 

Drafted to the New England Patriots in 2024 as a quarterback. 

Devontez Walker is a graduate of West Charlotte High School. 

Walker brought his talent to Kent State University where he played a total of 20 games over two seasons. 

Drafted to the Baltimore Ravens in 2024 as a wide receiver.

Dyami Brown Commanders

Dyami Brown is a graduate of West Mecklenburg High School.

Brown brought his talent to the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill where he played in 32 games over three seasons with 132 receptions. 

Drafted to the Washington Commanders in 2021 as a wide receiver. 

Delmar Glaze is a graduate of West Mecklenburg High School. 

Glaze brought his talent to the University of Maryland where he played 40 games over three seasons. 

Drafted to the Las Vegas Raiders in 2024 as a defensive tackle. 

Kendall Lamm Dolphins

Kendall Lamm is a graduate of Bulter High School.

Lamm brought his talent to Appalachian State University where he saw action on the field all four seasons. 

Going undrafted he spent time as a free agent.

Signed to the Miami Dolphins in 2022 as a defensive tackle. 

Emanuel Wilson is a graduate of North Mecklenburg High School. 

Wilson redshirted at Johnson C. Smith University but transfered to Fort Valley State University for two seasons.

Signed to the Green Bay Packers in 2023 as a running back. 

Jaire Alexander Green Bay

Jaire Alexander is a graduate of Rocky River High School.

Alexander brought his talent to the University of Louisville where he played three seasons. 

Drafted to the Green Bay Packers in 2018 as a cornerback.
