SPONSORSHIP?
We are very thankful to the businesses who have made a contribution towards making Rea Farms Athletics the place to play middle school sports, we couldn’t make this happen without you!
We are looking for sponsors of Rea Farms STEAM Academy Athletics. If your company would like to sponsor RFSA Athletics please reach out to me at r1.blumenstetter@cms.k12.nc.us so that we can discuss further.
SPORT OFFERINGS ARE THE SAME AS ALL MIDDLE SCHOOLS
CMS middle school (grade 7 and 8 only) students are offered 13 sports in which they can try out. As a K-8 some of our sports will be held here at RFSA, while others play at Community House Middle School. Each Sport page (listed under their season) will be updated with new information as it becomes available. Schedules are usually released in late August at the start of every school year. No schedule is final until the start of the season, but can be used for general planning purposes.
*Just announced; Football & Track will now be partnered with Community House
Coach Blumenstetter, ATHLETIC DIRECTOR
“About Me”
I am very excited to follow in the foot steps of Mrs. Williams, RFSA’s very first athletic director at Rea Farms STEAM Academy. I received both a Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Physical Education/Athletic Coaching Education from West Virginia University in 2008; Let’s GO Mountaineers! After graduating, I found myself substitute teaching then working as a Recreational Specialist for The Department of Veteran Affairs where I eventually became Director Certified. Before I knew it,5 years flew by and I found myself yearning to teach again. I took the plunge and moved to Charlotte,NC to work at Northeast Middle School for a few months.
Over the summer of 2014, I transferred to Alexander Graham Middle School where I coached a variety of sports. In my first 4 years at AG I coached football, baseball, track and golf. In my 5th year my colleague, whom was Athletic Director at the time had her 2nd child. I filled in as “acting” AD while she was out on maternity leave that eventually led to being permanent AD for an additional 4 years. While I was Athletic Director at AG, we won numerous Southern Conference Championships in Boys & Girls Soccer, Baseball, Golf, Boys & Girls Basketball and football. Many of our middle school student-athletes later won state championships in Boys Basketball and Girls Soccer at Myers Park H.S. (Boys Soccer made it to the State Championship).
After taking a few years off helping my dad, I decided I missed facilitating Athletics. Especially seeing our old student-athletes further succeed on the High School level. I jumped at the chance to join Rea Farms STEAM Academy. I hope to bring the same success I had over at AG Middle to RFSA!
Working side by side with parents and building a strong AG Booster Club, I look forward to doing the same at Rea Farms STEAM Academy. At AG, were able to upgrade our football/soccer field, baseball/softball field, scoreboards and resurface our basketball courts twice a year! The boosters also helped aid in getting new uniforms, practice equipment, Coaches’ Gear and End of Season Ceremonies. I urge all of our Falcon families to join or contribute in any way possible!
Please feel free to email me at anytime for any questions, Coach Blumenstetter
