BULLYING/HAZING

Any act committed against someone joining or becoming a member or maintaining membership on any team that is humiliating, intimidating, demeaning, or endangers the health and safety of the person.

Hazing includes active or passive participation in such acts and occurs regardless of the willingness to participate in the activities! Hazing creates an environment/climate in which dignity and respect are absent.

SUSPENSION/DETENTION

  • Students are allowed two days’ maximum of In School Suspension (ISS) before being removed from their team.
    • Students who are in ISS the day of a practice or game are INELIGIBLE to participate and must take their normal ride of transportation home.  They are not allowed to be on the sidelines or in the crowd.
  • Students who receive Out of School Suspension (OSS) are automatically removed from the team.
  • If a student is assigned After School Detention (ASD) or Before School Detention (BSD) the day of an event they are ineligible to compete in the event.
    • They must take their normal mode of transportation home.  They are not allowed to watch from the sidelines or in the crowd.
  • If a student is assigned After School Detention (ASD) or Before School Detention (BSD) the week of an event they are ineligible to practice that day.

MISSED PRACTICES/GAMES

  • If you miss one practice/game without notifying your coach or athletic director prior to the practice/game, you will not be able to start the following game.
  • If you miss two practices/games without notifying your coach or athletic director prior to the event, you will be required to meet with your coach and the athletic director to discuss your commitment to your team. After the meeting, the next unexcused absence will result in a dismissal from the team.
