Swimming & Diving
The 2026 Swimming & Diving Championships took place from February 11 – 14 .

Myers Park Men’s Swimming defeated Enloe with an overall final score of 291.Â

Sr. swimmer Peter Cassidy, pictured below on the left, won the Farm Bureau Sportsmanship Award.

Myers Park Women’s Swimming defeated Green Hope with an overall final score of 334.Â

Sr. swimmer Avery Klamforth, pictured below on the left, won the Farm Bureau Sportsmanship Award.

Myers Park’s Sr. diver Nate Robinson won the diving championship with an overall final score of 440.85.

Indoor Track
The 2026 Indoor Track & Field Championships took place on February 11 and 12, and February 18 and 19.

Mallard Creek Men’s Indoor Track took home the championship with an overall score of 55 to runner-up Jordan’s score of 46. This is their second straight track championship.
Sr. runner Zach Prioleau, pictured left below, won the Farm Bureau Sportsmanship Award.

Mallard Creek Women’s Indoor Track took home the championship with an overall score of 81.5 to runner-up Myers Park’s score of 49. This is their first track championship in school history.Â
Myers Park Women’s Indoor Track was the state runner-up behind Mallard Creek.
Sr. Mallard Creek runner Sana’ia Lazenby, left, and Sr. Myers Park runner Calla Lanik, right, pictured below won the Farm Bureau Sportsmanship Award.

The 2026 Dual Team Wrestling State Championships will take place on February 16 and 17.Â

Hough Wrestling defeated Millbrook 46-20 to win the state title.

Hough Jr. Michael Santoro won the 8A 106lb state championship.
Hough Jr. Colton Boga won the 8A 190lb state championship.

Mens Basketball
The 2026 Men’s Basketball Playoffs took place between February 24 and March 14.Â

West Charlotte Lions held off the Hoggard Vikings in a close gamewhere Hoggard dominated most of the night 70-68. Sean Johnson helped the lions take the lead with a 2-point buzzer beater layup that secured them the 2026 NCHSAA 8A title. This is their seventh state championship and their first since 2022.Â

Womens Basketball
The 2026 Women’s Basketball Playoffs took place between February 24 and March 14.Â

Mallard Creek Mavericks held off the Hoggard Vikings in overtime 49-45 to win the 2026 NCHSAA 8A state championship, the first in school history. Sydney McGuire hit a 3-pointer with 57 seconds left in regulation to tie the game and force overtime. After a tied 45-45 game Mallard Creek would seal the deal by scoring the final four points.

North Mecklenburg Vikings defeated Southern Durham on Saturday, March 14 65-38 to win their second state championship since 1986.Â
