Too many times I have witnessed students not being able to try out because they didn’t get their physical before tryouts started or paperwork wasn’t submitted in time. REQUIRED PAPERWORK AND ACADEMIC ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS TO TRYOUT FOR ANY SPORT
All students must have a Dragonfly account, if you don’t already have an account go to Dragonflymax.com to create a dragonfly account. All Paperwork will be completed on Dragonfly: All students must have an up to date physical from a doctor and proof of insurance to tryout. Both items must be uploaded to dragonfly profile. Participation information sheet, physical information, Insurance Forms, Honor Codes and Crash Course Concussion video and survey Forms must be completed prior to tryouts. Academic Eligibility Requirements
All students interested in trying out must have passed a minimum course load from last semester(6 minimum), and must have 2.0 GPA from last semester (7th graders exempt from 2.0 GPA rule for 1st semester of school year but not exempt from passed minimum course load requirement.)

First Day of Fall athletic Tryouts is August 27th for Football 4:30-6:00. August 28th for Volleyball, Cheerleading, and Softball 4:30 p.m.- 6:00 P.M. After the first day of tryouts, the coach will inform students going forward of the tryout schedule.
*Tuesday August 27th there will be a golf interest meeting 4:15 P.M.-4:25 P.M. if there are not enough participants for golf there will not be a golf team.

What should I wear for tryouts?
•Athletic Attire is encouraged for tryouts (shorts, sweatpants, t-shirts, athletic Shoes, etc…)
How many days are tryouts?
•There is a minimum two day try out period for each sport before cuts are made. Coaches may hold a longer try out period if they choose.
•When do try outs start? Tuesday August 27th is first day of tryouts for football 4:30-6:00 p.m. Golf will have an interest meeting Tuesday August 27th 4:15-4:25 in the gym to see interest and if team number is meet. Wednesday, August 28th is the first day for fall tryouts for Cheer, Softball, Volleyball.
How long do try outs last each day?
•Try outs start at 4:30 P.M. and will end no later than 6:15 p.m.
•* Golf will be determined by how many people want to try out. A certain number of golfers are needed to make a team, If a team can be made for Quail Hollow. further directions will be given Thursday August, 29th.
Where do athletes meet for try outs?
•All Sports meet in the Gym the first day of try outs. Coach Blackley will sit you in your designated team location in the bleachers. Check you in, check your eligibility, let you change clothes if needed and then send you to your designated area for try outs. After the first day the coach for the team will tell you where to meet going forward.
*All paperwork must be completed on dragonflymax.com, physical and insurance must also be uploaded on Dragonfly before student can participate in tryouts. If a student is unsure with their GPA, please check with Coach Blackley starting August 12th .If you need to know your GPA before that date, 8th graders Last semester (2nd semester) GPA is used for fall tryouts, so use those grades to calculate your GPA. 7th graders are exempt for Fall 2.0+ GPA requirement. 7th and 8th graders must have passed minimum course load from last semester 6 minimum.
8th graders that are unsure if they are academically eligible, please check with Coach Blackley for GPA.
To Calculate GPA (last semester) Add all grades together and divide by the number of classes.

B= 3-points
C= 2-points
D= 1- points
F= 0-points

Very important
• Students Must have active insurance and an active physical performed by a licensed physician, nurse, physical assistant. Physical and insurance need to be uploaded to DragonFly Max account. (active physical means received a medical examination no more than 395 days ago by a duly licensed physician, nurse practitioner or physician assistant.)
Side note: Do not pay for a sport until your child has been selected for the team.
