CMS Grads Make 2026 NFL Opening Week Rosters

The NFL is the highest level of professional football in the United States. Many players hope to go pro but few will play professionally.

The building blocks for a professional career are built in high schools across the nation. See the NFL players below that got their start right here in Charlotte!

Jovaughn Gwyn is a graduate of Harding University High School.

Gwyn brought his talent to the University of South Carolina where he played in 46 out of 48 games over five seasons during his college career.

Signed to the Baltimore Ravens in 2025 as a guard.

Jordan Davis is a graduate of Mallard Creek High School.

Davis brought his talent to the University of Georgia.

He played a pivotal role in Georgia winning the 2022 National Championship.

Drafted to the Philadelphia Eagles in 2022 as a defensive tackle.

Trenton Simpson is a graduate of Mallard Creek High School.

Simpson brought his talent to Clemson University.

He played 37 games over three seasons with the tigers totaling 164 tackles.

Drafted to the Baltimore Ravens in 2023 as a linebacker.

D. J. Humphries is a graduate of Mallard Creek High School.

Humphries took his talent to the Florida Gators as an offensive tackle.

He signed a deal with the Washington Commanders as an offensive tackle.

Drake Maye is a graduate of Myers Park High School.

Maye brought his talent to the UNC Tar Heels.

He started a total of 30 games in three seasons at quarterback for the Tar Heels.

Drafted to the New England Patriots in 2024 as a quarterback.

Devontez Walker is a graduate of West Charlotte High School.

Walker brought his talent to Kent State University where he played a total of 20 games over two seasons.

Drafted to the Baltimore Ravens in 2024 as a wide receiver.

Dyami Brown is a graduate of West Mecklenburg High School.

Brown brought his talent to the UNC Tar Heels where he played in 32 games over three seasons with 132 receptions.

He signed a one year deal to return to the Washington Commanders as a wide receiver after one season with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Delmar Glaze is a graduate of West Mecklenburg High School.

Glaze brought his talent to the University of Maryland where he played 40 games over three seasons.

Drafted to the Las Vegas Raiders in 2024 as a defensive tackle.

Emanuel Wilson is a graduate of North Mecklenburg High School.

Wilson redshirted at Johnson C. Smith University but transfered to Fort Valley State University for two seasons.

Signed to the Seattle Seahawks in 2026 as a running back.

James Pearce Jr. is a graduate of Julius Chambers High School.

Pearce brought his talent to the University of Tennessee as a defensive lineman.

Drafted to the Atlanta Falcons in the 2025 NFL Draft as a linebacker.

Cedric Gray is a graduate of Ardrey kell High School.

Gray brought his talent to the UNC Tarheels as a linebacker.

Drafted to the Tenessee Titans in the 2024 NFL Draft as a linebacker.
